Mepron And Acne Has Anyone Used Mepron (atovaquone) Antibiotic For Chronic Lyme Disease?

Has anyone used Mepron (atovaquone) antibiotic for chronic Lyme Disease? - mepron and acne

About 10% of people with Lyme disease (Borrelia burgdorferi Borelli) are infected, infected with Babesia (Babesia microti). Atovaquone cholestyramine proved to be more effective in people with Lyme Babesia. However, this opening was marked, so that may have been prejudiced. No placebo-controlled, double-blind (type of evidence to the FDA) so far on the use of atovaquone in Lyme disease by what did or not. Talk to your doctor, or preferably a doctor specializing in infectious diseases.

I totally agree with Gopher - there is no evidence that atovaquone in chronic Lyme disease can be used. If you have a diagnosis of chronic Lyme disease - should never _any_ in the long term, chronic antibiotics, except under the supervision of a specialist in infectious diseases. This is dealing with a difficult situation - and often for medical, if the treatment is not started properly. Good luck!

You can read the guidelines for the treatment of Lyme disease and co-infections such as babesiosis in the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS) website. Mepron is one of the drugs used against Babesia, malaria parasites.
